Grown for a tropical foliage effect, the large leaves are silvery green, with green veins and deep purple/red undersides. Excellent as an indoor plant or for understory planting as a foliage contrast in a Tropical garden. Protect from winds and maintain soil moisture as leaves will fold in when under stress and may suffer leaf burn. Ctenanthe prefers well-drained, humus rich soil and warm temperatures. Prune to remove old leaves and stems and apply a slow release fertilizer in Spring.
